Job Description

We are looking for a special person to fill an important role within our friendly household. Someone with a mature disposition, who is conscientious, organized, clothes and house proud and has a real love of cooking.

The role comprises:
• Clothes and linen laundry, ironing and gen clothes care, all to a high standard. Managing the dry cleaning deliveries, mending items, packing for holidays.
• Minor cleaning (silver, specialist items etc). Another member of staff is employed in the mornings to carry out the bulk of the household cleaning.
• Preparing and cooking the evening meal for the family and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. All food shopping and making various homemade goods such as pesto, nut milks, granola, bread, biscuits etc.
• Liaising with the nanny / pa on visiting tradespeople etc.

The role would suit someone who works well on their own and with others and who likes to work in an organized yet relaxed environment. There are two children aged 8 and 9 in the household so a liking of children is essential. Experience in a similar role will be necessary. Most important will be an attitude of responsibility, cooperation and flexibility as you will be part of a small team.

Candidates will need to show that they have stayed with families for more than two years as this is a long term position. They will also need to speak English fluently and be able to provide excellent references. Driver preferred but not essential.

The hours are 10.30am till 8.30pm. Mon to Fri. Salary dependent on experience but between £10 and £12 an hour gross.

The family travel during school holidays and you will need to travel with them abroad and to the countryside on occasion.
