| Job Description | We are looking for a housekeeper for our family. We are 2 working parents with 4 children aged 18, 15, 9 and 7. I work 3 days a week and we are looking for someone reliable, sensible and who takes initiative to help run our house. The role is mostly centred around the household, but there are various childcare roles for the smaller 2 children involved. Duties: Household duties: cleaning, hoovering, dusting, polishing, Laundry: washing, ironing, folding, making and changing beds Cooking, food preparation and cleaning up, and helping me in the kitchen Assist with shopping, running errands (rarely) and putting shopping away Childcare duties: helping children get ready for school, packing their bags and walking them to school. Collecting them from school, making and serving a light dinner or reheating something I have previously cooked. Ability to organise their evening ie. Prompting to do homework, have a bath etc. Making sure that toys are put away and to create a system so that this can be managed easily. Days/times required: School holiday timetable (13 weeks/year) Monday: 7.30am – 5.30pm Tuesday: 7.30am – 1.30pm Wednesday: 7.30am – 6pm Friday: 8am – 2pm During school term time, you will have approximately between 10.30pm – 3.30pm free to rest, go home, or do your own thing. However, during the school holidays, I will need you to look after the children during this time, so I am including these times weekly so as to have availability and flexibility from you when needed. This also includes (rare) days when the children are too unwell to go to school and will need to stay at home. For the above days and hours, the total weekly pay will be £250 rather than an hourly rate, for the reasons above. We will also pay employers national insurance contribution and tax. Ideally we want someone who has an interest in continuing to support our family in this way for the next few years. Face to face interview, DBS check and references will be required.
