| Job Description | Live-in Housekeeper Couple near Wye, Kent Start Date 1 June 2023 Job Level: Experienced Housekeeper Contract - Permanent Housekeeper Days and Hours - Full-time. Five days per week, Mon-Fri, 40 hours Housekeeper Salary and Package: £25-28k per annum, depending on experience and ability. Pension, NI contributions, accommodation, 4 weeks holiday Partner - Freelance Partner Days and Hours: Two 8 hour days per week, Mon and Fri, or four 4 hour days (your choice) Partner Pay £13 per hour Accommodation You will be provided with accommodation in an annexe with your own front door, consisting of a large open plan sitting room/kitchen on the ground floor, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom upstairs, and a small garden. Heating, water, and domestic electricity are included (car charging extra). Job Summary Domestic couple, housekeeper/cook, and general help, needed to look after two houses, next to each other, on a beautiful farm between Ashford and Canterbury in Kent. The houses belong to the same family which spans three generations; the youngest being at/post university. Relaxed yet semi-formal households that require a friendly, capable and proactive couple. It is important that you really enjoy living in the countryside, although there are also two cottages nearby and it feels like a small community. The nearest village, with shops, doctor, chemist etc, is two miles away. Candidate Requirements The ideal candidates will be a proactive couple who are cheerful and positive. High standards, a good level of English and some degree of flexibility are essential. You should be responsible, reliable and have a can-do approach. Applicants must already be based and have the right to work in the UK. You will need a UK Driving Licence and your own car for your personal use. We will require work and character references. You must love dogs as part of the role will be looking after two small and very friendly dogs. It is best if you don’t have your own pets. Housekeeping duties include: A good standard and experience of cooking is essential Helping with entertainment (occasionally including evenings and weekends) Cleaning, laundry and ironing Regular dog walking, and dog sitting when the family are away (including some weekends) Meeting tradesmen when the family are away Occasional local errands Partner duties include: Assisting your partner with the above, as necessary Some basic interior and exterior DIY maintenance Security of the property when the family are away Occasional driving. Cleaning cars Mowing the large garden Replenishing logs for fires Pool maintenance |
