You’ll be part of a home‑like sheltered living environment, where your culinary skills and caring nature contribute directly to residents’ wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook two hearty meals (lunch & dinner) for up to 10 residents, creating nutritious menus with attention to dietary needs Maintain communal areas—tidy, clean, safe—and carry out daily health & safety checks findajob.dwp.gov.uk Engage with residents over meals and informal moments, supporting their social and emotional wellbeing Monitor kitchen stock, assist in ordering supplies, ensure hygiene standards are met (Food Hygiene training provided/desired) About You: Warm, caring, and sociable—able to build rapport over shared meals and conversations Passionate about cooking and baking; experience preparing meals for groups is ideal Comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team, with flexibility to cover holiday shifts Food Hygiene & Safety qualification Level 2 desirable (training available) abbeyfield.com Why Abbeyfield: Abbeyfield offers a deeply rewarding role where you truly enhance the quality of later life.
