| Job Description | We are a friendly family in Brook Green (W6) looking for someone to help with the day-to-day running of our home – shopping and cooking, looking after our cat, errands, and keeping things ticking over. We have two adult children who are at home during the holidays. We are conveniently located: about a 9-minute walk from Hammersmith tube station and 15 minutes from Shepherd’s Bush tube station. We are looking for around 12 hours per week, spread over three to five days, ideally in the afternoons. Main duties Shopping & cooking • Grocery shopping, including preparing shopping lists • Preparing dinners (usually following simple recipes which we provide) Household support • Laundry and occasional ironing (our cleaner does most ironing) • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, including unloading the dishwasher (our cleaner does most cleaning) Pet care (daily/regular) • Feeding our cat and cleaning the litter tray • Ordering and restocking all pet supplies (food, litter, etc) • Coordinating and attending vet visits, ensuring vaccinations and check-ups are kept up to date Errands • Running local errands (e.g., collecting dry cleaning, posting parcels) Outdoor tasks (occasional) • Maintenance work as needed, including sweeping the path and patio, watering plants, cleaning tiles with a Kärcher machine Home maintenance coordination (as needed) • Liaising with the burglar alarm engineer: granting access when required, supporting scheduled visits, and communicating any issues or updates to the homeowner We are looking for • Good spoken and written English, and confidence using email and the internet on a computer (e.g., researching and ordering products online, booking services such as window cleaning). • Non-smoker. • Long-term position; applicants must have permission to work in the UK. • References required. • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
